Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves ₹190 Crore Development Projects, Including 12 MW Hydropower Plant

₹159.60 crore sanctioned for the Tankul Hydropower Project, while funds are also approved for tourism, roads, bridge construction and 75 new police vehicles.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions of around ₹190 crore for various development schemes and construction works across the state.

The approvals cover key areas including hydropower, tourism infrastructure, road connectivity, bridge construction and police modernisation. The largest allocation of ₹159.60 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the 12 MW Tankul Hydropower Project in Pithoragarh.

The state government has approved ₹159.60 crore for the construction of the 12 MW Tankul Hydropower Project in Pithoragarh.

The project will be constructed through the Public Investment Board. The approval represents the largest allocation among the development works cleared by the Chief Minister.

₹4.75 Crore for Chaukori Tourist Rest House

A sum of ₹4.75 crore has been sanctioned for the upgradation and expansion of the Tourist Rest House at Chaukori in Pithoragarh.

The funds will be used to improve the existing facilities and expand infrastructure for tourists visiting the region.

Road Works Approved in Tehri and Dehradun

The government has approved funds for road reconstruction and repair projects in several areas.

In Dhanaulti Assembly constituency of Tehri Garhwal, ₹3.25 crore will be spent on the reconstruction and strengthening of the Saudi Lagga Kyari Motor Road in the Jaunpur area.

In Sahaspur Assembly constituency of Dehradun, ₹4.23 crore has been sanctioned for repairing damaged internal roads and laying interlocking tiles in several areas, including:

  • Jhinveredi’s Sumeru Vihar
  • Suddhowala
  • Selaqui
  • Ummedpur
  • Ambiwala
  • Thakurpur
  • Khushalpur

The projects are aimed at improving local road connectivity and providing better access to residents.

Road Improvement in Pauri, Double-Lane Bridge in Kotdwar

In the Kaljikhal area of Pauri, ₹3.45 crore has been approved for improvement of the Kansakhet-Asgad-Ghandiyal-Dhar-Alasu-Kunkuli Motor Road between kilometre 13 and kilometre 17.

Meanwhile, ₹3.31 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a 36-metre-span double-lane bridge at Gabbar Singh Camp in Kotdwar.

The bridge project is expected to strengthen connectivity and improve transportation infrastructure in the area.

Uttarakhand Police to Get 75 New Vehicles

The Chief Minister has also approved the purchase of 75 new vehicles for the Uttarakhand Police Department.

The approved vehicles include:

  • 21 Scorpio vehicles
  • 26 Bolero vehicles
  • 20 buses of different capacities
  • 8 trucks

In addition, ₹68.01 lakh will be released towards the pending payment for five riot-control and jammer vehicles purchased during the financial year 2025-26.

The total allocation related to the police vehicles and the pending payment has been approved at ₹12 crore.

Focus on Infrastructure and Public Services

The latest financial approvals cover multiple sectors and districts of Uttarakhand.

The sanctioned projects are expected to strengthen power generation, tourism infrastructure, road connectivity, bridge infrastructure and police mobility, while supporting development and public services across the state.
