In yet another bureaucratic shake-up within the Bihar Police Department, the state government has transferred a total of 15 young Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. Additionally, two officers from the Bihar Police Service (BPS) have been appointed as Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs).
The transfers are part of a comprehensive overhaul designed to address various operational and administrative needs within the police force.
The transfer orders also included modifications for two senior IPS officers. Notably, 1996-batch IPS officer Nayyar Hasnain Khan, currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), has been relieved for central deputation. He will take up the position of Inspector General in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
As part of the restructuring, Patna district will see the appointment of five new Superintendents of Police (SPs): SP (Rural), SP (Traffic), City SP (Patna East), City SP (Patna West), and City SP (Patna Central). Additionally, four new Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) will be assigned to Patna Sadar-1, Patna City, Barh, and Phulwarisharif. Furthermore, new City SPs have been appointed in Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga. The Home Department has issued a notification detailing these changes.
According to the latest notification from the Home Department, several prominent transfers and new appointments have been announced:
- Shubhank Mishra, previously SDPO (Forest) of Dehri Rohtas, has been appointed as City SP (East) of Patna.
- Sweety Sahrawat, formerly SDPO (Forest) of Patna Sadar, will now serve as City SP (Central) of Patna.
- Sarath R. S., who was SDPO (Forest) of Patna City, has been assigned as City SP (West) of Patna.
- Aparajit, previously SDPO of Barh, has been promoted to Traffic SP of Patna.
- Vishwajeet Dayal, currently ASP of the Crime Investigation Department, has been designated as Rural SP of Patna. During Dayal’s induction training until mid-October, Satish Kumar, SP Administration, will handle the additional charge of Rural SP of Patna.
Additionally, new City SPs have been deployed to various districts:
- K. Ramdas, SDPO of Sherghati Gaya, has been appointed as City SP of Bhagalpur.
- Vikram Sihag, SDPO of Phulwarisharif, will now serve as City SP of Muzaffarpur.
- Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Traffic SP of Patna, has been moved to City SP of Darbhanga.
- Vidyasagar, Additional Director cum Assistant State Fire Officer, has been assigned as Rural SP of Muzaffarpur.
- Rakesh Dubey, who had been awaiting posting following a suspension, is now appointed as AIG of Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP).
Further transfers include:
- Kota Kiran Kumar, ASP of Muzaffarpur, has been appointed SDPO 1 of Dehri Rohtas.
- Bhavre Diksha Arun, ASP of Patna, will now serve as ASP of the Crime Investigation Department.
- Shailendra Singh, ASP of Munger, has been assigned SDPO 1 of Sherghati Gaya.
- Abhinav, ASP of Bhagalpur, is now SDPO 1 of Patna Sadar.
- Atulesh Jha, ASP of Purnia, has been designated SDPO 1 of Patna City.
In another significant move, Dr. Swapna Gautam Meshram, formerly SP of Aurangabad, has been appointed as Commandant of B-SAP 17 Bodhgaya.
Consequently, Deepak Ranjan, Commandant of B-SAP 3 Bodhgaya, has been relieved from the additional charge of Commandant of B-SAP 15 Bodhgaya.
These strategic appointments and transfers are expected to enhance administrative efficiency and law enforcement across the state, addressing key operational needs and regional challenges.
