Patna: Bihar has begun training newly selected MSME Mitras under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme to strengthen support for small businesses and help entrepreneurs access government schemes and services.
A one-day workshop was organised at the Industry Department’s conference hall in Vikas Bhawan, Patna, where the participants were briefed about their responsibilities and the various support available to MSMEs.
MSME Mitras to Bridge the Gap
The workshop focused on positioning MSME Mitras as a link between entrepreneurs and the Industry Department. They will help business owners understand government schemes, identify relevant benefits and receive guidance for addressing their business-related challenges.
Experts also highlighted the role of MSMEs in Bihar’s economic growth and employment generation. The Mitras were encouraged to understand the needs of local enterprises and connect them with appropriate departmental programmes.

Focus on Quality and Productivity
The training also covered Udyam Registration, ZED Certification and Lean Methodology.
These initiatives can help enterprises improve their quality standards, productivity and overall competitiveness. Better production practices and certification can also make businesses more prepared to compete in larger markets.
Push for Exports
Export opportunities formed another key part of the workshop. Participants were informed that Bihar’s local enterprises can expand beyond domestic markets by improving product quality, adopting better manufacturing processes and understanding market requirements.
The MSME Mitras will therefore have an important role in helping entrepreneurs move from basic government support towards business expansion and market opportunities.
The workshop was attended by Industry Department officials, employees and other concerned representatives. The initiative is expected to strengthen the last-mile delivery of MSME support and make it easier for entrepreneurs to access information and government services.
