Bihar’s Shramshakti Scheme Trains 5,186 Minority Youth, Helps 1,191 Secure Jobs

Patna: Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Shramshakti Yojana has provided employment-oriented skill training to 5,186 youth from minority communities since its launch in 2008-09, according to the state government.

Of those trained under the scheme, 1,191 youth have received employment opportunities. The programme focuses on developing skills aligned with employment requirements and preparing beneficiaries for job opportunities.

Scheme Focuses on Employment-Oriented Skills

Launched in 2008-09, the scheme is aimed at providing skill training to young people from minority communities in different employment-oriented fields.

According to the government, the programme focuses on:

  • Providing market-oriented skill training
  • Developing the capabilities and skills of minority youth
  • Preparing trainees for employment opportunities
  • Connecting trained beneficiaries with employment

The state government said its focus is on linking skill training with employment opportunities rather than limiting the programme to certification.

Computer Labs Set Up in 11 Hostels

The Minority Welfare Department has also established computer laboratories in 11 hostels operated by the department.

The facilities have been set up in hostels located in:

  • Gaya
  • Kishanganj
  • Katihar
  • Darbhanga
  • Khagaria
  • Begusarai
  • Aurangabad
  • Madhubani
  • Muzaffarpur
  • Nawada
  • Rohtas

Minority community youth residing in these hostels can access training through the computer labs.

Digital Training Through Computer Courses

The computer laboratories are being used to provide training in courses including Digital Mitra and Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA).

The training is intended to develop digital and computer-related skills among the youth and equip them for employment opportunities involving digital and computer-based work.

The Bihar government said the initiative is part of its efforts to expand skill development and employment-oriented training among minority community youth.
