The Bihar government carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle late Saturday night, transferring 23 IAS officers across the state.
The General Administration Department issued the notification, announcing changes involving Deputy Development Commissioners (DDCs), Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), Municipal Commissioners and departmental directors.
The reshuffle has affected several districts, with officers being moved to new assignments in what appears to be a broad reorganisation of the state’s field administration.

Shreya Shri Named Khagaria DDC
- Among the prominent appointments, Shreya Shri has been posted as the Deputy Development Commissioner of Khagaria.
- Garima Lohia, who was serving as SDO of Barh, has been transferred and appointed Commissioner of Darbhanga Municipal Corporation.
- Another significant change sees Tushar Kumar, formerly SDO of Purnea, taking charge as DDC of Madhubani.
- Meanwhile, Anirudh Pandey, SDO of Danapur, has been appointed Commissioner of Purnea Municipal Corporation.
New Faces in Key Development Posts
The reshuffle also brings several SDOs into DDC positions across the state.
Pradmyun Singh Yadav, SDO of Katihar, has been posted as Director in the Directorate of Food Processing under the Industries Department.
Anksha Anand, SDO of Muzaffarpur West, has been appointed DDC of Sasaram, while Anjali Sharma, SDO of Areraj in East Champaran, has been posted as Director in the Social Welfare Department.
Other major DDC appointments include:
- Rohit Kardam, SDO of Navagachiya, → DDC of Kaimur
- Shipra Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, SDO of Ara Sadar, → DDC of Jamui
- Neha Kumari, SDO of Sasaram, → DDC of Katihar
Changes in Bhagalpur, Danapur and Sasaram
Krishnachandra Gupta, SDO of Bhagalpur, has been appointed Inspector General in the Prohibition Products and Regulation Department.
Virupaksh Vikram Singh, who recently returned after completing training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, has been posted as SDO of Danapur.
Priya Rani has been appointed SDO of Sasaram.

The reshuffle also includes a series of appointments at the subdivision level.
The new postings include:

- Syed Adil Mohsin – SDO, Madhaura
- Ajay Yadav – SDO, Ballia, Begusarai
- Suraj Kumar – SDO, Katihar
- Vignesh – Assistant to SDO, Purnea
- Jatin Kumar – SDO, Sherghati, Gaya
- K. Parikshit – SDO, Navagachiya
- Mahesh Kumar – SDO, Tarapur
- Kashish Bakshi – SDO, Patna City
A Broad Field-Level Reshuffle
With changes spanning district development administration, municipal corporations, subdivisions and state departments, the latest orders mark a significant movement of IAS officers across Bihar’s administrative machinery.
The appointments place several officers in new field roles, while others have been shifted to specialised departmental responsibilities.
