On the 100th convocation of the University of Mysore (UoM), going to be organized on October 19th’20, Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer, Mr. Sanjiv Kumar along with Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Mr. Manoj Rajan will be honored with the degree of Ph.D.
Back in 2015, IAS officer Mr. Kumar commenced his thesis, which he pursued at the Institute of Development Studies (UoM). The subject on which he was doing his research was ‘MGNREGA — Law Rights, Process and Sustainable Livelihood – A Critical Study in Karnataka.’ “I got permission to take up the research work by the State Government in 2014”, he says.
On the other hand, Mr. Rajan practiced his Ph.D. in ‘Agricultural Market Reforms in the country and Role of Technology’. Rajan began his research work four and a half years ago. He is now, the director of the Karnataka Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
“I studied the evolution of the Indian agriculture market system spanning 120 years. I have also analyzed how the market can be improved using technology”, he says.
