In a major transfer order issued by the Karnataka government on 9 April, senior IAS officer Rakesh Singh got appointed as the Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The position was lying vacant since IAS officer Ajay Seth was transferred as Secretary, Economic Affairs, Government of India.
Rakesh Singh, a 1989-batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer, will also be holding the charge as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Water Resources Department and will continue working as as the Administrator of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
