Several Senior Bureaucrats Reshuffled At DG and Additional Secy Ranks, IPS Nalin Prabhat Made DG, NSG

On April 19th, the union government orchestrated a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Director General (DG) and Additional Secretary ranks. 

Mr. Nalin Prabhat (1992 batch IPS officer), presently posted as ADG in CRPF, was appointed Director General in the National Security Guard (NSG) till his retirement in August 2028.

Ms. Sapna Tewari (1992 batch IPS officer) was mandated to assume office as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) for two years or up to the date of her retirement.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma (1993 batch IAS officer), presently posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, was made Additional Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. While, Mr. Suman Billa (1996 batch IAS officer) was made Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. Ms. Aradhana Patnaik (1998 batch IAS officer) was promoted (in situ) to Additional Secretary rank in the Department of Health & Family Welfare. 

Two other Joint Secretary-level IAS officers were granted in-situ upgradation to the Additional Secretary level. Ms. Himani Pande (1998 batch Jharkhand cadre) was made Additional Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Mr. Kamal Kishore Soan (1998 batch Jharkhand cadre) became Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Mr. Shantmanu’s(1991 batch IAS) central deputation tenure was extended for one year beyond 14.05.2024, up to 14.05.2025. Officer Shantmanu is presently posted as an Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
