New Delhi: The Centre has approved five key appointments and repatriation orders involving senior officers across the Lokpal, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Union government establishments.

The latest orders include the appointment of Satish Sethi (IA&AS:2000) as Joint Secretary, Lokpal, and the appointment of three 2008-batch IPS officers as Joint Directors in the CBI.

In a separate move, Chandrasekar S (IAS:2014), who was serving as Private Secretary to Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre with an extended cooling-off period.

Satish Sethi Appointed Joint Secretary, Lokpal

Satish Sethi (IA&AS:2000) has been appointed Joint Secretary, Lokpal, under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

He will have an overall tenure of five years, up to July 16, 2028.

Sethi will replace Abhishek Bhagotia (IAS:2007) in the post.

The appointment places the senior Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer in a key position in the country’s anti-corruption ombudsman institution.

Three IPS Officers Get CBI Joint Director Posts

In a major set of appointments, three senior IPS officers currently serving as DIGs in the CBI have been appointed as Joint Directors in the agency.

Akhilesh Kumar Singh

Akhilesh Kumar Singh (IPS:2008), currently serving as DIG, CBI, has been appointed Joint Director, CBI.

He replaces Sudha Singh (IPS:2006).

Singh will hold the post for a tenure extending up to July 22, 2028.

Satya Veer Singh

Satya Veer Singh (IPS:2008), also serving as DIG, CBI, has been appointed Joint Director, CBI.

He replaces Ashwin Shenvi (IPS:2006).

His tenure in the new assignment will continue up to March 5, 2028.

Anish Gupta

Anish Gupta (IPS:2008), currently serving as DIG, CBI, has also been appointed Joint Director in the CBI.

He replaces Ramnish Geer and will continue in the assignment up to February 29, 2028, as per the appointment order.

The three appointments strengthen the CBI’s senior supervisory structure, with all three officers already having experience within the investigating agency.

Chandrasekar S Repatriated to Parent Cadre

In another significant development, Chandrasekar S (IAS:2014) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.

Chandrasekar was serving as Private Secretary to Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

His repatriation has been approved with an extended cooling-off period.

The move brings his central deputation assignment to an early end and returns him to the Kerala cadre.

Five Orders Cover Key Central Government Institutions

The latest set of orders covers appointments in three important areas of the Central government establishment.

Sethi’s appointment strengthens the senior administrative structure of the Lokpal, while the three IPS appointments bring changes at the Joint Director level in the CBI.

At the same time, Chandrasekar’s premature repatriation marks a change in the Vice President’s Secretariat.

The orders collectively represent another round of senior-level administrative movements involving officers from different services and cadres.
