New Delhi: The Central government notified the appointment of 14 judicial officers as judges and additional judges in four High Courts across India. The appointments cover the Delhi High Court, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, Jharkhand High Court, and Karnataka High Court.

The move is aimed at strengthening the judiciary, reducing vacancies, and improving the speed of justice delivery across the country. The appointments were officially notified by the Central Government after consultation with the Chief Justice of India.

Centre Notifies New Judicial Appointments

The Central Government on September 19 announced the appointment of 14 judicial officers to various High Courts. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal shared the notification, stating that the appointments were made under the powers granted by the Constitution of India and after consultation with the Chief Justice of India.

These appointments include both permanent judges and additional judges. The decision comes at a time when courts across India are working to improve judicial efficiency and address case backlogs.

Delhi High Court Gets Seven New Appointments

The following judicial officers have been appointed as Judges of the Delhi High Court:

  • Nivedita Anil Sharma
  • Nisha Sahay Saxena

Their elevation marks an important step in strengthening the judicial capacity of one of India’s busiest High Courts.

Five Judicial Officers Appointed As Additional Judges

The Central Government has also appointed the following officers as Additional Judges of the Delhi High Court:

  • Sanjay Sharma
  • Bharat Parashar
  • Aditi Choudhary
  • Dinesh Bhatt
  • Arun Bhardwaj

These appointments are expected to help the court handle a large volume of pending cases more efficiently.

Judicial Appointments: J&K And Ladakh High Court Gets New Judge

Judicial Officer Yashpal Bourney has been appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The appointment will add judicial strength to the High Court serving both the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Judicial Appointments: Jharkhand High Court Gets Three New Judges

Three judicial officers have been elevated as Judges of the Jharkhand High Court:

  • Manoj Prasad
  • Akhil Kumar
  • Ram Sharma

These appointments are expected to improve the court’s ability to hear cases and reduce delays in judicial proceedings.

Judicial Appointments: Karnataka High Court Receives Three Additional Judges

The Central Government also appointed three judicial officers as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court:

  • Usha Rani
  • K.S. Bharath Kumar
  • Nerale V. Bhavnani

The appointments will help strengthen the functioning of one of India’s most active High Courts.
