New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of deputation tenures for two Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers currently serving in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, according to official orders issued by the Department of Revenue.
As per the notification, Raja Yaqoob Farooq, IRS (IT: 2014), will continue his deputation with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir until November 10, 2025.
In a separate order, the deputation of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, also an IRS (IT: 2014) officer, has been extended up to April 7, 2026.
The extensions reflect the central government’s continued reliance on experienced IRS officers to support administrative and governance functions in the Union Territory.
