The Chhattisgarh government announced a significant administrative shakeup , involving key changes among the IAS and IPS officers.

In a decisive action, the government has removed Vijay Dayaram, the Bastar Collector, from his post. Dayaram, a 2015-batch IAS officer, faced scrutiny over reported non-performance. His removal comes in the wake of a comprehensive review meeting led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, which focused on administrative efficiency in the Bastar district.

As a result of this reshuffle, Harish S, another 2015-batch IAS officer previously serving as the Sukma Collector, will take over the responsibilities in Bastar.

Meanwhile, Devesh Kumar Dhruv, a 2018-batch IAS officer who was the Bhilai Municipal Corporation Commissioner, will step into the role of Sukma Collector.

In a related development, the state government has also reassigned IPS officers. Mr Girijashankar Jaiswal, a 2010-batch IPS officer, has been removed from his position as Superintendent of Police in Mungeli.

He will be replaced by Bhojraj Patel, a 2013-batch IPS officer, who will assume the role of police chief in Mungeli.

This series of appointments and removals follows a Collector-District Superintendent of Police conference held earlier this week.
