Raipur: Chhattisgarh government has released a total amount of ₹58.43 crore (₹58,43,14,000) for all 194 urban local bodies (ULBs) across the state. The Department of Urban Administration and Development has issued official allocation orders for distributing the funds under different financial categories.
The released amount will help urban bodies clear pending payments, carry out repair and maintenance works, and manage emergency situations like heavy rainfall and other civic challenges.
Funds Allocated to All 194 Urban Bodies Across Chhattisgarh
The state government has provided financial assistance to all categories of urban local bodies, including municipal corporations, municipalities, and nagar panchayats.
The objective behind this allocation is to improve the financial condition of urban bodies and ensure that development and public service-related works continue without financial hurdles.
₹27.82 Crore Released for 14 Municipal Corporations
According to the government order, 14 municipal corporations of Chhattisgarh have received the highest share of the total allocation.
- 14 Municipal Corporations: ₹27.82 crore (₹27,82,45,000)
The funds will be used for essential urban infrastructure maintenance, pending payments, and improving civic facilities in major cities.
₹18.71 Crore Allocated to 56 Municipalities
The state government has also provided financial support to 56 municipal areas across Chhattisgarh.
- 56 Municipalities: ₹18.71 crore (₹18,71,39,000)
This funding will help municipalities manage local development projects, maintain public facilities, and ensure smooth delivery of civic services.
₹11.89 Crore Released for 124 Nagar Panchayats
Small urban areas have also been included in the financial allocation.
- 124 Nagar Panchayats: ₹11.89 crore (₹11,89,30,000)
The amount will support basic infrastructure works, maintenance activities, and other essential requirements at the local level.
Funds Released Under Different Revenue Categories
The Urban Administration and Development Department has released the funds under several financial heads, including:
- Mandatory funds
- Octroi compensation
- Excise tax
- Passenger tax
- Bar tax
- Stamp duty-related revenue
These allocations are part of the government’s regular financial support system for strengthening urban local bodies.
