Raipur: Chhattisgarh is preparing for a major long-term transformation aimed at placing the state among India’s most developed regions by 2047, under the ambitious “Anjor Vision-2047” roadmap.

According to the State Planning Commission, the vision focuses on turning policy plans into measurable improvements in citizens’ lives, with a strong emphasis on agriculture, industry, digital economy, employment, and governance reforms.

‘Anjor Vision-2047’ to Shape Next Two Decades of Development

At an induction programme held in Nava Raipur for State Support Mission (SSM), Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) teams, State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Ganesh Shankar Mishra said that “Anjor Vision-2047” is not just a document but a strategic blueprint for the next 20 years.

He said the roadmap defines clear targets in:

  • Economic development
  • Good governance
  • Investment promotion
  • Social progress
  • Human development

Focus on Real Change, Not Just Policy Announcements

Mishra emphasized that becoming a developed state cannot be achieved through announcements alone.

He said the government is now focusing on:

  • Inter-departmental coordination
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Result-oriented governance
  • Direct impact on citizens’ lives

The aim is to ensure that every scheme delivers visible outcomes on the ground.

SDGs and Vision-2047 to Work Together

The official stated that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Anjor Vision-2047 complement each other.

Both frameworks aim to:

  • Ensure inclusive development
  • Reach the last person in society
  • Improve overall quality of life

All departments have been directed to align their schemes with these long-term goals.

Strong Push for Agriculture, Industry and Employment

The vision places major focus on strengthening the state’s economic foundation through:

  • Increasing agricultural productivity
  • Promoting industrial growth
  • Enhancing women’s economic participation
  • Expanding skill development programs
  • Boosting the digital economy
  • Large-scale job creation

Employment generation has been identified as a key pillar of development strategy.

Data-Based Monitoring to Improve Scheme Outcomes

The Planning Commission stressed that scheme performance will now be measured through outcomes rather than expenditure.

Key reforms include:

  • KPI-based performance reviews
  • Policy analysis and monitoring
  • Real-time evaluation systems
  • Expert-driven departmental coordination

This shift aims to improve accountability and efficiency in governance.

Post-Naxal Development Phase in Chhattisgarh

Officials stated that Chhattisgarh is entering a new phase of development after the decline of Left Wing Extremism.

With security challenges reduced, the focus is now on accelerating economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social development across the state.

‘Bastar Anjor’ Initiative to Transform Tribal Region

The government’s “Bastar Anjor” initiative aims to reshape the Bastar region through innovation-driven development.

Key focus areas include:

  • Education and healthcare
  • Employment generation
  • Good governance
  • Infrastructure development
  • Livelihood enhancement

The initiative aligns with the vision of making Bastar one of the most developed tribal regions in the country.

Government, Planning Commission and UNDP Collaboration

The Vice Chairman expressed confidence that joint efforts by the state government, State Planning Commission, and the United Nations Development Programme (United Nations Development Programme) will ensure timely achievement of all Vision-2047 targets.

He said Chhattisgarh will emerge as an inclusive, modern, and investment-friendly state at the national level.

The “Anjor Vision-2047” roadmap marks a major step in Chhattisgarh’s long-term development strategy, focusing on inclusive growth, data-driven governance, and transformation of rural and tribal regions into economic growth hubs.
