Raipur: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai called upon citizens to become active partners in protecting nature and conserving natural resources. He emphasised that environmental protection is not merely an administrative or social responsibility but a moral obligation towards future generations.
Extending his greetings on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the deep and inseparable relationship between nature and human life, stating that the environment forms the foundation of human existence and is closely tied to India’s cultural and traditional values.
Nature is Foundation of Human Existence: CM Sai
CM Sai said that nature has always acted as the greatest protector of human civilisation and stressed the importance of safeguarding forests, water resources, and biodiversity for ensuring sustainable development.

World Environment Day was observed across Raipur with plantation drives organised at multiple locations, including participation from political leaders and party workers.
BJP state president Kiran Dev planted a sapling at his residence office in Devendra Nagar under the theme “One Plant, One Resolve: A Meaningful Step Towards a Greener Future.”
He emphasised that tree plantation is not a symbolic activity but a long-term commitment linked to the health and safety of future generations.
Leaders Stress Sustainable Development
At a separate plantation programme held at the BJP state headquarters, Kushabhau Thakre Parisar, Regional Organisation General Secretary Ajay Jamwal and State Organisation General Secretary Pawan Sai participated in tree plantation activities.
Ajay Jamwal stated that sustainable development is only possible when economic growth and environmental protection progress together. He stressed the importance of balancing development with conservation of natural resources.
Pawan Sai urged citizens to go beyond symbolic observance of Environment Day and take responsibility for nurturing saplings until they grow into healthy trees. He called for long-term commitment towards environmental care rather than one-day activities.
