Indian Masterminds Stories

Raipur: In a significant reshuffle in the Chhattisgarh Police Department, the state government has transferred seven IPS officers, including Superintendents of Police (SPs) of four key districts. The Home Department, led by Secretary Himshikhar Gupta, issued the official transfer orders on Friday.

According to the notification, Ankita Sharma has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rajnandgaon, while Pankaj Chandra will now serve as SP of Kondagaon. Prafull Thakur has been assigned to Sakti district, and Ratna Singh has taken charge as SP of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur district.

Mohit Garg Transferred to Police Headquarters

Mohit Garg, the outgoing SP of Rajnandgaon, has been promoted to the rank of AIG (Assistant Inspector General) and transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Raipur.

Meanwhile, Chandramohan Singh, who previously served as SP of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur, has been appointed as the Director of Emergency Services (Fire Brigade and City Force).

In addition, Yaduvalli Akshay Sidar has been designated as Assistant Inspector General of Police, while Chandramohan Singh has officially taken charge as the Director of Fire Brigade and City Force.

Ankita Sharma Takes Charge as Rajnandgaon SP

The transfer order places IPS Ankita Sharma, formerly SP of Sakti district, at the helm of Rajnandgaon Police. Sharma, known for her field operations and leadership, is expected to bring renewed focus to law enforcement and public safety in the region.

Her previous position in Sakti will now be filled by IPS Prafull Thakur, while Ratna Singh will oversee policing operations in Manendragarh district.

Pankaj Chandra to Lead Kondagaon District

IPS Pankaj Chandra has been appointed the new SP of Kondagaon, taking over at a time when the district continues to focus on law and order management and anti-Naxal operations. The Home Department has directed that all transferred officers immediately assume their new responsibilities and report back to the department upon taking charge.

Earlier IAS Transfers on September 30

This latest reshuffle in the police department follows a similar wave of transfers among IAS officers earlier this month. On September 30, following the assumption of office by new Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, responsibilities of 14 IAS officers were reallocated.

During that reshuffle, Jitendra Yadav was appointed as Collector of Rajnandgaon, while Dr. Rohit Yadav replaced P. Dayanand as Director of the Public Relations Department. Several senior officers were assigned additional portfolios, while others were relieved of existing charges.
