Kashipur (Uttarakhand): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹25.19 crore in Kashipur, marking a significant step toward strengthening urban infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
The projects include three foundation-laying works and two inaugurated schemes, aimed at improving road infrastructure, public utilities, and civic amenities.
Government Committed to Holistic Development of Kashipur
Addressing the event virtually, CM Dhami said the state government is fully committed to the overall development of Kashipur and is working rapidly to expand modern infrastructure facilities in the region.
He emphasized that Kashipur is emerging as an important industrial and commercial hub of the Kumaon region, and targeted development efforts are being undertaken accordingly.
Major Road and Traffic Infrastructure Projects Announced
To address traffic congestion and improve urban mobility, the Chief Minister announced several key projects:
- Construction and beautification of 8 major intersections in Kashipur at a cost of around ₹34 crore
- First phase foundation laid for two important junctions
- Development of “Nankana Sahib Chowk” with ₹3.35 crore allocation (renaming of Stadium Tiraaha)
- Beautification of Maharana Pratap Chowk with ₹4.30 crore funding
- Repair and construction of Kashipur–Ramnagar National Highway (NH-309) worth ₹16.81 crore
- Construction of a 3 km mini bypass to reduce city traffic congestion
These projects aim to significantly reduce traffic bottlenecks and improve road safety.
Focus on Industrial Growth and Employment Generation
CM Dhami highlighted ongoing industrial development in Kashipur, including:
- Development of a 133-acre Electronic Manufacturing Cluster Park
- Allocation of 16 industrial units already completed within the park
He said the initiative is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities for local youth and boost economic growth in the region.
Major Urban Development and Utility Projects Underway
The Chief Minister also outlined several ongoing infrastructure initiatives, including:
- Upgradation of Kashipur, Haridwar, and Rishikesh with Automated Driving Test Tracks
- Master plan development for drainage and traffic management in Kashipur
- Ongoing works worth nearly ₹1950 crore for water supply, sewerage, road improvement, and sewage treatment plants
These projects are part of a long-term urban modernization strategy.
Development Policy Based on “No Pendency”
CM Dhami stated that the current government follows a “No Pendency” policy, ensuring that projects are not left incomplete and are completed within fixed timelines.
He said the government is focusing on both foundation laying and timely inauguration of projects, ensuring faster delivery of public infrastructure.
Vision for a Modern Uttarakhand
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of modern infrastructure, the Chief Minister said Uttarakhand is rapidly progressing in sectors such as:
- Roads and connectivity
- Healthcare
- Education
- Tourism
- Urban development
He expressed confidence that continued public support will help Uttarakhand become one of the leading states in the country.
