Shahdol: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated several development initiatives in Shahdol district, highlighting the government’s focus on irrigation, education, tourism, women empowerment, and youth welfare. Speaking at the Water Park inauguration in Dhanpuri, CM Yadav emphasized that “sachha vada–pakka kaam” (true promises, assured work) is the hallmark of his administration.
Shahdol Irrigation Complex to Boost Farming
CM Yadav announced the construction of the Shahdol Irrigation Complex, which will include four micro-irrigation projects on the Son River. The 2,300 crore rupees project aims to increase irrigated land by 50,000 hectares, benefiting 122 villages.
“This initiative will not only improve agricultural productivity but also enhance farmers’ incomes, contributing to the overall prosperity of rural communities,” said the Chief Minister.
Educational and Institutional Development
Several educational initiatives were announced during the visit:
- Geeta Bhawan Construction: To provide students with library and coaching facilities.
- Shahdol Medical College: Seat expansion will be implemented as per departmental proposals.
- New College in Jaitpur: Alongside construction of arts and science buildings.
- Model Road Project: Approval granted for 3 km road construction in the region.
CM Yadav also announced the elevation of Jaitpur as a Nagar Panchayat, reflecting the state’s commitment to urban development.
Sports and Tourism Infrastructure
The Chief Minister inaugurated a mini-Olympic standard swimming pool in Dhanpuri and the Dhanpuri Water Park, built at a cost of 20 crore rupees by the municipal authorities.
“These projects aim to promote sports, tourism, and recreational opportunities for local residents, especially the youth,” CM Yadav said.
Women Empowerment and Social Welfare
CM Yadav reaffirmed the government’s focus on women empowerment, citing schemes such as:
- Ladli Bahna Yojana
- Lakhpati Didi & Drone Didi Schemes
- 2% registry discount for women
- Increased representation in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha
“Our culture has always flourished on the foundation of women’s empowerment. The upcoming initiatives will ensure economic, social, and political strength for all women,” he said.
Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development
To enhance agricultural productivity and improve farmer income, CM Yadav announced:
- Krisak Kalyan Year 2026 to focus on farmers’ welfare.
- Distribution of 30 lakh solar pumps to make agriculture energy-efficient.
- Special support for dairy and pulses production.
- Expansion of irrigation coverage to 44 lakh hectares in the state.
“Our aim is to make farming profitable, increase farmers’ income, and ensure better nutrition for families,” the Chief Minister added.
CM Highlights Tribal Development and Cultural Values
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav praised the state’s tribal development programs, noting that the government under PM Narendra Modi is focused on political, economic, and social empowerment of tribal communities. He also extended greetings on Mata Shabri Jayanti, emphasizing human-to-human love as a key aspect of Indian culture.
Local Leaders and Public Participation
The inauguration ceremony saw participation from several dignitaries:
- MP Himaadri Singh lauded CM Yadav and PM Modi for the region’s development initiatives.
- MLA Jai Singh Maravi thanked the Chief Minister for addressing local developmental needs.
- Municipal Chairperson Ravinder Kaur Chhabra presented the Water Park and other municipal initiatives.
- Panchayat representatives and a large number of local residents also attended the event.
