Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves ₹5 Crore for Temple Restoration, Road Projects and Development Works

 ₹3.45 crore allocated for the beautification of five temples, while road infrastructure, wildlife protection works, and sports facilities in Pauri, Pithoragarh, Almora, Champawat, Tehri, and Dehradun also receive funding.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial assistance worth around ₹5 crore for a series of development projects across the state. The sanctioned funds will support temple beautification, road construction, public infrastructure, wildlife protection measures, and sports facilities in districts including Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Almora, Champawat, Tehri Garhwal, and Dehradun.

A major portion of the funding has been allocated for the renovation and beautification of prominent temples, reflecting the state government’s continued focus on preserving Uttarakhand’s cultural and religious heritage while promoting regional development.

₹3.45 Crore Approved for Temple Beautification Projects

The Chief Minister approved financial assistance for the beautification and development of several temples across Uttarakhand.

Maa Bal Kunwari Mata Temple, Pauri Garhwal

Under the Yamkeshwar Assembly constituency in Dwarikhal block, ₹72.67 lakh has been sanctioned for the beautification of Maa Bal Kunwari Mata Temple at Kathud Bada, Devikhal.

  • First installment approved: ₹43.60 lakh

Mahabgarh Temple, Pauri Garhwal

For the beautification of Mahabgarh Temple in Dugadda block:

  • Total project cost: ₹1.69 crore
  • First installment released: ₹1.02 crore

Shri Harichand Devta Temple, Pithoragarh

The government approved the construction of Shri Harichand Devta Temple under a Master Plan in Didihat.

  • Total approved amount: ₹1.42 crore
  • First installment: ₹85.08 lakh

Funding for Nanda Devi, Guru Gorakhnath and Mostamanu Temples

Additional financial approvals have been granted for temple development projects in Pithoragarh and Almora.

Nanda Devi Temple, Milam (Pithoragarh)

  • Project cost: ₹90.16 lakh
  • First installment: ₹54.09 lakh

Guru Gorakhnath Temple, Salt (Almora)

  • Project cost: ₹99.61 lakh
  • First installment: ₹59.76 lakh

Mostamanu Temple, Didihat (Pithoragarh)

The Chief Minister approved the release of the remaining ₹39.31 lakh against the sanctioned amount of ₹98.27 lakh for the temple beautification project.

Road and Infrastructure Projects Receive Financial Approval

Apart from religious infrastructure, the government has also approved funding for road connectivity and rural infrastructure projects.

Motor Road Construction in Champawat

For the construction of the Tamli–Rupaligad–Seem motor road in Champawat district:

  • Approved cost: ₹79.44 lakh
  • First installment: ₹47.66 lakh

Protection Works in New Tehri

In Silkot Gram Panchayat under the New Tehri Assembly constituency, the government approved funds for:

  • Protective fencing and safety walls to reduce damage caused by wild animals
  • Construction of a CC-railing pathway from Nakil Nala to the village well

Project cost: ₹93.85 lakh

First installment released: ₹56.31 lakh

Financial Assistance for Uttaranchal Press Club

The Chief Minister also approved ₹5 lakh as financial assistance to the Uttaranchal Press Club in Raipur, Dehradun, for the purchase of sports equipment aimed at promoting sporting activities among media professionals.

Focus on Heritage Conservation and Regional Development

The latest financial approvals highlight the Uttarakhand government’s balanced approach toward preserving the state’s religious heritage while simultaneously improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas.

The sanctioned projects are expected to:

  • Enhance facilities at major temples and pilgrimage sites.
  • Improve road connectivity in hilly regions.
  • Strengthen safety infrastructure in villages affected by wildlife.
  • Encourage community participation through better public amenities.
  • Promote sports activities by supporting institutional infrastructure.

The latest approvals reflect the Uttarakhand government’s continued focus on preserving religious heritage while simultaneously investing in rural infrastructure, road connectivity, public amenities, and community welfare.

The sanctioned projects are expected to improve pilgrimage facilities, strengthen local infrastructure, enhance public safety, and support community development across multiple districts of the state.
