Saharanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 10 development projects worth over ₹613 crore in Saharanpur, while reaffirming the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development, welfare schemes, and improved connectivity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister also distributed benefits under various government welfare schemes and launched a state-wide RoVer land measurement campaign aimed at modernising land records and reducing property disputes.
₹613 Crore Development Projects Unveiled in Saharanpur
The projects announced for Saharanpur include:
- Inauguration of seven projects worth over ₹32 crore
- Foundation stone for three projects worth over ₹581 crore
During the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed symbolic cheques, approval letters, house keys, certificates, and toolkits to beneficiaries of several welfare schemes. He also visited stalls set up by women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and reviewed a demonstration of the Revenue Department’s RoVer technology.
A short documentary showcasing Saharanpur’s recent development initiatives was also screened during the programme.

RoVer Land Measurement Campaign Launched
The Chief Minister formally launched the RoVer-based land measurement campaign, which will run from July 1 to August 15, 2026, under Section 24.
Describing it as an innovative initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government, he said the technology will:
- Ensure accurate land measurement
- Reduce human errors
- Minimise land disputes and litigation
- Speed up resolution of boundary conflicts
- Modernise revenue records
The RoVer system is expected to replace traditional surveying methods with faster and more precise digital measurements.
CM Yogi Highlights Welfare and Inclusive Development
Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath said the double-engine government considers the state’s 25 crore residents as one family and continues to implement welfare schemes without discrimination.
He highlighted key government initiatives including:
- Free ration distribution
- LPG connections
- Health insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh
- Pension schemes
- Housing assistance
- Household toilets
According to the Chief Minister, these programmes are contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Uttar Pradesh.

Saharanpur to Get Airport, Better Connectivity and Medical Infrastructure
The Chief Minister said Saharanpur is witnessing rapid infrastructure development after 2017.
Key announcements include:
- Construction of Saharanpur Airport, eliminating dependence on Delhi and Dehradun airports
- Expansion of road and rail connectivity
- Development of smart roads and bridges
- Progress on the second phase of Saharanpur Medical College
- Foundation stone for drinking water supply and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects
He said improved connectivity would accelerate economic growth and attract greater investment to the region.
Delhi–Saharanpur–Dehradun Economic Corridor Boosting Growth
Yogi Adityanath recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi–Saharanpur–Dehradun Economic Corridor on April 14, 2026.
The ₹12,000 crore Greenfield corridor has significantly improved connectivity, reducing travel time between Saharanpur and Delhi to approximately 90 minutes.
He said the corridor would strengthen regional infrastructure while boosting trade, industry, and employment opportunities.
Focus on Heritage, Tourism and Religious Infrastructure
The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing work on the Maa Shakumbhari Corridor, including the construction of an elevated corridor and a facilitation centre to improve year-round access for devotees.
He said these projects reflect the government’s commitment to balancing heritage conservation with modern infrastructure development.
The government is also taking steps to prevent disruptions caused by seasonal flooding in the area.
Support for Saharanpur’s Wood Carving Industry
Yogi Adityanath praised Saharanpur’s globally recognised wood carving industry, stating that artisans have preserved the craft despite difficult circumstances.
He noted that under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, the district now exports wood carving products worth more than ₹600 crore annually, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s export economy.

Education, Employment and Women Empowerment
The Chief Minister also launched the second phase of the School Chalo Abhiyan, distributing school bags to children enrolled in Basic Education Council schools.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to:
- Youth employment
- Women’s safety and self-reliance
- Transparent recruitment in government jobs
- Equal development across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh
Kanpur–Kabarai Greenfield Highway Approved at ₹7,145 Crore
Separately, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the Union Cabinet’s approval for the ₹7,145.14 crore Kanpur–Kabarai Greenfield Highway.
The 117.7-kilometre access-controlled four-lane highway, expandable to six lanes in the future, will form a key part of the Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor.
Key Benefits of the Highway
- Travel time between Kanpur and Kabarai will reduce from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours
- Seamless connectivity with the Bundelkhand Expressway and Kanpur Ring Road
- Improved transportation of minerals, agricultural produce, construction material and industrial goods
- Better access to railway stations and airports, including Kanpur, Chakeri and Khajuraho
- Large-scale employment generation during construction
- Estimated daily traffic of around 18,000 vehicles by 2028
- Significant boost to trade, logistics and industrial development in the Bundelkhand region
CM Yogi Thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Reacting to the Cabinet approval, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the project would strengthen the vision of Viksit Uttar Pradesh by improving connectivity, attracting investment and accelerating industrial growth under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
The twin announcements of ₹613 crore development projects in Saharanpur and the approval of the ₹7,145 crore Kanpur–Kabarai Greenfield Highway underline the Uttar Pradesh government’s continued focus on infrastructure, connectivity, welfare, and economic development. The initiatives are expected to improve public services, generate employment, and strengthen regional growth across the state.
