Aligarh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Aligarh and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 85 development projects worth over ₹462 crore. Addressing a public gathering, he said that the development process in the region will neither stop nor slow down, and Aligarh will emerge as a major hub for defence manufacturing.
During the event, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to nationalist leader Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh and former Chief Minister late Kalyan Singh.
₹462 Crore Projects Inaugurated and Launched Across Aligarh
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects spread across Aligarh, Kol, and the Municipal Corporation area. These projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure, civic amenities, and public services.
He also distributed certificates to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes and interacted with local representatives and citizens.
Aligarh Set to Become Defence Manufacturing Hub
CM Yogi said that Aligarh has been given a new direction through the Defence Manufacturing Corridor approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

- Development of defence production ecosystem
- Strengthening of supply chain for defence equipment
- Promotion of local manufacturing and industries
- Boost to employment opportunities
He said Aligarh will play a major role in making India self-reliant in the defence sector.
Tribute to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh and Kalyan Singh
The Chief Minister highlighted the historical importance of Aligarh and paid homage to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, noting his role in India’s freedom movement.
He also remembered former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, stating that his leadership gave Aligarh a new identity in independent India.
Massive Infrastructure Push in Aligarh Region
CM Yogi said that development in the region is being carried out on a large scale, including:
- ₹2800 crore worth of PWD projects approved
- Six-lane highway construction under progress
- Ring road and flyover projects
- Development of hospitals, colleges, and public institutions
- Smart city development initiatives
He added that Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University has already been established and new facilities are being expanded rapidly.
Focus on Heritage, Industry and Growth
The Chief Minister praised Aligarh’s traditional lock and hardware industries, stating that local artisans and craftsmen have given the city global recognition.
He said the Defence Corridor will further strengthen Aligarh’s industrial identity and transform it into a key defence production centre.
Development Linked with Good Governance
CM Yogi emphasized that meaningful development is possible only when citizens elect capable representatives with a clear vision.
He stated that the “double-engine government” is working to ensure fast-paced development across Uttar Pradesh.
Assurance of Continuous Development in Aligarh
The Chief Minister assured residents that development projects will continue based on regional needs. He reiterated that:
- Development will remain uninterrupted
- Infrastructure expansion will continue
- Public welfare schemes will be strengthened
- Aligarh will be developed as a smart city
CM Leaves for Lucknow After Fire Incident Alert
During the programme, the Chief Minister received information about a fire incident in Lucknow. He informed the gathering that he would immediately leave for Lucknow and return to Aligarh later to continue reviewing development projects.
