Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 24 development projects worth over ₹758 crore in Gorakhpur, with the 11.6-km Bhathat–Bansthan four-lane road emerging as the flagship project.
The projects, located primarily in the Pipraich Assembly constituency, focus on road connectivity, tourism infrastructure and rural development.

Bhathat–Bansthan Four-Lane Opened to Public
The Chief Minister dedicated the 11.6-kilometre Bhathat–Bansthan four-lane road, built at a cost of ₹689.35 crore, to the public.
Overall, he inaugurated five road projects worth ₹697.49 crore, while laying the foundation stone for 19 additional development works worth ₹60.63 crore.
AYUSH University Gets New Hostels
During his visit, CM Yogi also inspected the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath State AYUSH University, the first AYUSH university in Uttar Pradesh.
He inaugurated newly constructed boys’ and girls’ hostels, with the boys’ hostel named after Mahant Avedyanath, while the girls’ hostel has been named Rapti.
Roads, Tourism and Rural Infrastructure Receive Push
The projects for which the foundation stone was laid include road widening, strengthening and rural connectivity works, along with tourism infrastructure projects.
Key initiatives include:
- Widening and strengthening of the Saraiya–Bansthan Road.
- Road improvements connecting Ramnagar to Ekla village.
- Development of Mahadev Kund in Sirsia village as a tourist destination.
- Tourism development at Samay Mata Temple in Budhadih village.
- Rural tourism development in Aurangabad village.
- Multiple CC roads, interlocking works, drainage projects and road strengthening across villages in the Pipraich region.
Focus on Regional Development
The latest projects are aimed at improving regional connectivity, boosting tourism, strengthening rural infrastructure and enhancing public amenities in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The Bhathat–Bansthan four-lane corridor is expected to significantly improve transportation while supporting economic and social development in the Gorakhpur region.
