CPWD and Canara Bank Sign MoU for Residential Staff Quarters Project in Malad West, Mumbai

New Delhi: The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Canara Bank have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of Residential Staff Quarters at Narsingh Lane, Malad West, Mumbai. The agreement, formalized on June 4, 2026, aims to strengthen housing infrastructure support for bank employees working in the city.

The initiative reflects continued collaboration between the central government’s construction agency and the public sector banking institution to improve employee welfare through better residential facilities.

MoU Signing Ceremony Held with Senior Officials

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organizations. Among those present were:

  • Mr. Ranjeev Kumar, Chief General Manager and Circle Head, Canara Bank
  • Mr. Manoj Kumar, Chief Engineer, Mumbai-II, CPWD
  • Other senior officers from Canara Bank and Central Public Works Department

The presence of top leadership from both sides highlighted the importance of the project in enhancing institutional infrastructure in Mumbai.

Objective: Improved Housing Facilities for Staff

The proposed residential project is designed to provide improved and modern housing facilities for Canara Bank employees posted in Mumbai. With rising urban housing demands, the development is expected to ease accommodation challenges for staff while ensuring better living conditions.

The project also reinforces ongoing efforts by CPWD in delivering quality government infrastructure projects across major urban centers.

Strengthening Institutional Collaboration

This MoU marks another step in the growing partnership between public sector institutions for infrastructure development. By combining CPWD’s construction expertise with Canara Bank’s institutional requirements, the project is expected to contribute to long-term employee welfare and organizational efficiency.
