IPS officer Deepak Damor took charge as Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF), Gujarat Frontier in a formal ceremony at BSF Headquarters on 31 October. He has replaced Ravi Gandhi, who has been promoted and transferred to the BSF Academy, Tekanpur as Additional Director General.
An IPS officer of 2001 batch and Tamil Nadu cadre, Mr. Damor was serving as IG, BSF North Bengal Frontier prior to this appointment. He has also served in Mumbai as Joint Director in National Crime Records Bureau. Serving as IG, BSF of Gujarat Frontier will be his second stint in Gujarat. Mr. Damor was posted in Gujarat in the CBI’s Anti Corruption Branch in Gandhinagar and served there till 2016 on deputation.
