How Assam Rifles Is Inspiring Youth and Communities Ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day

New Delhi: Assam Rifles patriotic rallies in Manipur have brought the spirit of nationalism to some of the state’s most remote border villages ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations. Through Tiranga rallies, awareness drives, marathons, cultural programmes, tree plantation campaigns, and youth engagement activities, the Assam Rifles has strengthened community participation while promoting national unity and patriotism across Manipur.

The initiatives were organized in the districts of Kamjong, Tengnoupal, and Churachandpur on August 12 and 13 as part of nationwide Independence Day celebrations and the government’s Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, according to official information released by Assam Rifles.

Why Did Assam Rifles Organize Patriotic Rallies in Manipur

The outreach programmes were conducted to celebrate India’s upcoming 80th Independence Day, commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram, and strengthen bonds between local communities and security forces.

Officials said the activities aimed to encourage patriotism, social harmony, environmental awareness, youth participation, and responsible citizenship across remote border regions.

Tiranga Awareness Drive and Rally Held in Kamjong District

In Kamjong district, Assam Rifles launched a Tiranga distribution and flag-awareness campaign at Phaikoh village. The event was followed by a Tiranga Run where school students and local residents proudly carried the National Flag and raised patriotic slogans. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, students, and community leaders, highlighting strong support for Independence Day celebrations.

240 Students Join Vande Mataram Recitation at Kasom Khullen

At Good Shepherd School in Kasom Khullen, around 240 students and 20 teachers participated in a Vande Mataram recitation programme alongside Assam Rifles personnel.

A Tiranga Rally led by a senior official from the Hungbei Company Operating Base (COB) was also organized to promote national pride and civic responsibility among young citizens.

Youth Awareness Programme Focuses on Unity and Nation Building

A special awareness session was conducted at Aishi village to inspire local youth. During the programme, participants were encouraged to uphold values such as unity, harmony, discipline, and responsible citizenship. Officials emphasized the important role young people play in nation-building and community development.

Assam Rifles: Tiranga Run Draws Strong Participation in Tengnoupal

In Tengnoupal district, which shares a border with Myanmar, Assam Rifles organized a Tiranga Run that attracted nearly 160 participants. Students, residents, and security personnel joined the event to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day. The programme concluded with cultural performances by local students and a Vande Mataram presentation by the Assam Rifles Pipe Band.

‘Run Moreh Run’ Marathon Attracts Nearly 500 Participants

One of the biggest highlights of the celebrations was the ‘Run Moreh Run’ marathon. Nearly 500 participants, including Assam Rifles personnel, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, and local residents, took part despite continuous rainfall. The marathon route stretched from New KLP to the Integrated Check Post Complex in Moreh. The event ended with a cultural programme performed by students of Jehovah Jireh (JJ) Homes and a Pipe Band recital.

Winners Receive Medals and Certificates

The top five performers across several categories were honoured with medals and certificates. Awards were presented in the Under-10, Under-18, Girls, Above-18, and Serving Soldiers categories, encouraging sportsmanship and healthy competition among participants.

Assam Rifles Conducts Motivational Programme for Students

As part of its youth outreach efforts, Assam Rifles organized a motivational movie screening at Sita Village High School in Tengnoupal district. The programme involved 55 students and three teachers and focused on inspiring values such as courage, perseverance, determination, and dedication.

Assam Rifles Drives Tree Plantation to Promote Environmental Conservation

In Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles personnel carried out a large-scale tree plantation campaign under the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. The drive covered Aina, Veng, Khuga, Singhat, and Churachandpur on August 12 and 13.

Around 50 Assam Rifles personnel and 20 local students planted nearly 500 saplings to improve green cover and spread awareness about environmental protection.

Clean Village Campaign Encourages Community Participation

A Clean Village Drive was also organized at Aina village. The campaign brought together 15 Assam Rifles personnel and 17 villagers to clean roadsides and public spaces. Officials said the initiative reflected the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleaner and healthier communities.

The people-centric initiatives underline Assam Rifles’ commitment to strengthening ties with local communities while promoting patriotism and national integration. By combining cultural programmes, environmental campaigns, youth engagement activities, and patriotic rallies, the force continues to play an important role in connecting with residents in remote border regions. As India prepares to celebrate its 80th Independence Day, these initiatives highlight the shared spirit of unity, service, and national pride across Manipur.
