Bengaluru: HAL Tejas twin-seater And HTT-40 trainer aircraft formally handed over to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on September 18, 2026, in Bengaluru. The event marks an important step in India’s defence self-reliance journey under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

According to official information from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the company will hand over the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas FOC Twin-Seater Trainer and the HTT-40 Basic Trainer Aircraft. The event will be attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and senior military officials.

The Tejas FOC Twin-Seater is a trainer version of India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft. It is designed to train fighter pilots while maintaining combat capabilities.
