New Delhi: Technology Delayed Is Technology Denied was the key message from Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh during a defence industry event in New Delhi. He said India must develop advanced defence technologies faster because delays can reduce their value. The Air Force chief stressed that self-reliance is not only about making equipment in India but also about delivering it on time.

Air Force Chief Highlights Need For Defence Self Reliance

Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh said modern defence technology changes very quickly. If a system is developed too late, it may become outdated before it is ready for use. He explained that India should not only focus on building technology at home but also ensure that research, development, testing, and production move at the speed required for modern warfare.

“Technology Delayed Is Technology Denied”

The Air Force chief said that delayed technology can no longer meet the needs of today’s battlefield. He stressed that defence projects should be completed within the planned timelines so that the armed forces receive modern equipment when they need it, not years later.

Push For Defence Self-Reliance

A. P. Singh strongly supported India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in defence. He said India must build more indigenous unmanned aerial systems (UAS), drones, aircraft, and other advanced military technologies to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers. At the same time, these projects must be completed quickly to remain globally competitive.

Defence Self Reliance: Better Drone Identification And Airspace Safety

The Air Force chief also said discussions are taking place between the Indian Air Force, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and other government departments. The aim is to create a system that can quickly identify whether a flying drone is authorised or a rogue drone. Such a system would improve national security and reduce the risk of friendly forces accidentally targeting their own drones.

Defence Self Reliance: Need For Better Coordination

A. P. Singh said future military operations will require close coordination between manned aircraft and drones.

He highlighted the importance of building systems that allow different platforms to work together safely and efficiently during military operations.
