New Delhi: India will showcase its indigenous defence technology and strengthen international defence partnerships at विश्व-2026 (VISV-2026), a major event organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS). The event will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on October 30, 2026, at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.

The event aims to highlight India’s progress in defence research, technology development and production while promoting cooperation with friendly countries.

What Is VISV-2026

VISV-2026 stands for Vision, Innovation, Synergy and Values. It will bring together representatives from India’s defence establishment, industries, academic institutions and the diplomatic community.

The event will help international partners understand India’s growing defence capabilities and explore opportunities for technology cooperation and strategic partnerships.

India To Highlight Indigenous Defence Capabilities in VISV-2026

The event will focus on India’s efforts to develop advanced defence technologies within the country. The goal is to reduce dependence on foreign technology and strengthen India’s ability to meet its own defence needs.

DRDO will highlight its work across several important defence technology areas, including aircraft and aerospace systems, land and naval systems, sensors, communications, missile systems and microelectronics.

VISV-2026: Key Defence Technologies To Be Discussed

Technical sessions will highlight India’s capabilities in aerospace technology and systems designed for land and naval operations. These technologies play an important role in improving the strength and readiness of the Indian Armed Forces.

Sensors, Communications And Missile Systems

The event will also cover sensors, communication technologies and missile systems. These areas are important for detecting threats, sharing information and supporting modern military operations.

Microelectronics And Soldier Support Systems

Microelectronics and computing technologies will also receive attention. The discussions will explore technological solutions that can improve defence equipment and support soldiers in challenging conditions.

VISV-2026 To Promote International Defence Cooperation

VISV-2026 will provide a platform for India and friendly partner nations to discuss joint research, technology development and defence cooperation.

A panel discussion will explore opportunities for joint collaboration, capability development and mutually beneficial partnerships between India and other countries.

Such cooperation can help participating nations share expertise, explore new technologies and develop stronger defence relationships.

DRDO’s Focus On Defence Self-Reliance

DRDO aims to strengthen India’s technological self-reliance through research, innovation and cooperation. Developing more defence technologies within the country can help India improve its strategic independence and meet the changing needs of national security.

VISV-2026 will support this objective by bringing government representatives, researchers, industry experts and international partners together on a common platform.

Why Is VISV-2026 Important For India

The event is important because modern defence increasingly depends on advanced technology, domestic research and international cooperation.

By showcasing indigenous capabilities, India aims to demonstrate its progress in defence innovation and encourage partnerships that can support future technological development.

The event also offers an opportunity to connect defence research institutions, private industries and academic organisations to explore new ideas and practical solutions.
