Raipur: A delegation of journalists from Dehradun has reached Chhattisgarh for a six-day study visit to examine various aspects of the state’s industrial, cultural and development activities.
The visit has been organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun, and the delegation is scheduled to remain in the state until September 19.
Visit to Major Industrial and Energy Units
As part of the programme, the delegation will visit major industrial establishments and study their operations.

The itinerary includes:
- South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) in Bilaspur, a major coal-producing company.
- NTPC’s energy facility in Korba.
- BALCO’s aluminium unit in Korba.
The journalists will examine the functioning of these industrial and energy-related facilities during the visit.
Exploring Chhattisgarh’s Cultural Heritage
The delegation will also visit important cultural and heritage sites, including Sirpur’s Laxman Temple, which dates to the seventh century, and Buddhist sites in the area.
In Raipur, the journalists will visit the Tribal Museum to observe and document aspects of the state’s tribal culture.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Rural Initiatives
The study tour also includes visits related to renewable energy and rural livelihoods.
The delegation will study:
- A 40-kilowatt solar power project.
- Women-led self-help groups (SHGs).
- Initiatives associated with rural self-reliance.
Six-Day Study Programme
The delegation is being led by Sanjeev Sundriyal, in-charge of PIB Dehradun. According to Sundriyal, the programme is intended to provide the visiting journalists an opportunity to study Chhattisgarh’s industrial, cultural and development-related initiatives.
The visit will conclude on September 19.
