Delhi Government Revises Office Timings as Pollution Levels Drop

The revised timings aim to balance operational efficiency while acknowledging the improved environmental conditions across the capital.

In view of the improved air quality in the national capital, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has revised the office timings for employees of the Delhi Government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

As per the new directive, Delhi Government employees will now work from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, a shift from the previous 10:00 am to 6:30 pm schedule.

Similarly, MCD employees who earlier reported for duty from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm will now follow a new timing of 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

This change marks a reversal of adjustments made in November 2024 by then Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who had altered office hours to tackle rising pollution by easing peak-hour traffic congestion. With pollution levels steadily declining in recent months, the LG has decided to return to more standardized working hours.
