New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a major push to transform the national capital from a ‘transit city’ into a global destination city by launching four new tourism circuits focused on the capital’s spiritual, cultural and heritage attractions.
The announcement was made during the Spiritual and Heritage Tourism Conclave 2026 held at the Akshardham Temple on Tuesday. Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was also present at the event.
The Delhi government said the new tourism circuits are aimed at encouraging domestic and international visitors to spend more time in the capital and experience its rich cultural, historical and spiritual heritage.
Delhi to Move Beyond ‘Transit City’ Image
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said Delhi has traditionally been viewed by many tourists as a city where they stop for a few hours before travelling to other destinations.
