New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed senior IAS officer Diwakar Nath Misra as Government Nominee Director on the Board of NHPC Limited with effect from May 14, 2026. The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Power under official order and disclosed in compliance with SEBI regulations.

The appointment was notified through Order No. 9/7/2021-NHPC dated May 14, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Power.

Diwakar Nath Misra is a 2000-batch IAS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre and currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.
His career highlights include:
- Senior administrative roles in Finance, Commerce, Defence, Petroleum, and Cabinet Affairs
- Deputy Commissioner roles in Dhemaji and Golaghat districts of Assam
- Commissioner & Secretary in Urban Development and Panchayat & Rural Development departments
- Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance
- Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry
He also brings strong experience in the energy sector, having worked in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and served on the boards of major PSUs including Oil India Limited, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited, and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited.
