New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) is set to strengthen its Board with the appointment of Kahuli Sema and Ashish Kumar Gupta as Non-Official Independent Directors.
The appointments have been approved by the competent authority under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), Government of India. Their tenure will be for three years, effective from August 12, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The development is expected to further strengthen EIL’s corporate governance and Board-level oversight.
Kahuli Sema and Ashish Kumar Gupta Join EIL Board
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas communicated the approval of the two appointments to Engineers India in a letter dated August 12, 2026.
The appointment details are:
- Kahuli Sema — Non-Official Independent Director
- Ashish Kumar Gupta — Non-Official Independent Director
- Tenure: Three years
- Effective date: August 12, 2026
- Validity: Three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier
The appointments are part of the process of strengthening the Board of the government-owned engineering consultancy and project management company.

EIL Begins Formalities for New Directors
Engineers India has confirmed that it is undertaking the necessary formalities to complete the induction of the two new independent directors.
The company also stated that additional information required under the SEBI Listing Regulations will be disclosed separately.
The appointment-related notification was issued by S.K. Padhi, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, Engineers India Limited, on August 13, 2026.
Independent Directors to Strengthen Board Governance
The appointment of two Non-Official Independent Directors is expected to bring additional expertise and independent perspectives to EIL’s Board.
Independent directors play an important role in strengthening corporate governance, oversight and strategic decision-making within listed companies.
