New Delhi — The Central government has appointed senior IPS officer Raghvendra Kumar MG (2010 batch, Assam-Meghalaya cadre) as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The posting comes as part of a central deputation to fill an existing vacancy, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on 31 July 2025.
The appointment was approved by the competent authority under the standard terms and conditions applicable to central deputation of All India Services officers.
Raghvendra Kumar MG is currently serving as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Crime Investigation Department (CID), Meghalaya, and has been directed to be relieved from his present post with immediate effect so that he may assume his new role in the CISF.
Extensive Experience in Law Enforcement
With over a decade of service in various policing roles across the Northeast, Raghvendra Kumar MG is known for his effective leadership in handling complex investigations and administrative reforms. His appointment to the CISF — a paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, responsible for securing critical infrastructure and public sector undertakings — reflects the trust placed in his experience and expertise.
He is expected to bring significant value to the CISF’s operational effectiveness, especially at a time when the force is expanding its footprint in the private sector and enhancing security at airports, metro systems, nuclear plants, and more.
