GAIL Signs ₹6.64 Crore MoU to Upgrade Healthcare Facilities at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Varanasi

Varanasi: Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, GAIL (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth ₹6.64 crore with the Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) to enhance healthcare facilities at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Ramnagar, in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office, Varanasi. The initiative aims to significantly improve diagnostic and treatment capabilities for critical care services in the region.

Key Upgrades and Medical Equipment

As part of the partnership, the hospital will receive 219 advanced medical equipment, including:

  • Anesthesia Work Station
  • CB NAAT Machine
  • Arthroscopy System
  • Fundus Camera
  • Anaesthesian ENT Operating Microscope

These additions are expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver high-quality medical care, particularly in critical care and specialized treatments.

MoU Signing Ceremony

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Mr. Prakhar Kumar Singh, Chief Development Officer (CDO), Varanasi, Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Chief Medical Officer, Varanasi, and Mr. Sushil Kumar, GM (CGD) Varanasi – OIC, GAIL, along with representatives from GAIL and HLFPPT.

The event highlighted GAIL’s commitment to fostering community health and well-being, reinforcing its role as a socially responsible organization.

This CSR initiative is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in Varanasi by providing modern equipment and improving hospital infrastructure. It will benefit patients requiring advanced diagnostics and critical care treatments, supporting the region’s overall medical capacity and accessibility.
