Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday and invited him to the Global Investors Summit 2027 to be held in Madhya Pradesh.

During the meeting, Yadav briefed the Prime Minister about development works, welfare initiatives, investment efforts and various aspects of the state’s progress. He also shared information about steps being taken to create a favourable environment for investment, promote industrial development and generate employment.

The meeting comes as Madhya Pradesh continues preparations for its next major investment summit, with the state seeking to attract investors and expand industrial activity.

Global Investors Summit 2027 Invitation

A key part of the meeting was the invitation extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Global Investors Summit 2027.

The state government has been presenting Madhya Pradesh as an investment destination and has been working to create an environment that can support new industries and business activity.

Yadav informed the Prime Minister about the measures being taken to encourage investment in the state. These efforts are linked with industrial development as well as employment generation.

The 2027 summit is expected to provide a platform for the state to engage with investors and discuss opportunities across different sectors. Recent reporting has indicated that the summit is planned for January 2027 in Bhopal.

Focus on Investment and Industrial Development

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also discussed the state’s investment-related efforts and industrial development plans.

The focus on investment is significant for Madhya Pradesh as new industrial projects can create demand for infrastructure, logistics, skilled manpower and supporting services.

For the state, attracting investment is also linked with employment opportunities for local youth. Yadav therefore highlighted the efforts being made to build an investment-friendly environment and support industrial growth.

Madhya Pradesh had earlier hosted the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal, which brought together investors, industry leaders, policymakers and representatives from more than 60 countries. The 2025 summit included sector-focused sessions covering areas such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, transport and logistics, industry, skill development, tourism and MSMEs.

The experience of the earlier summit provides a broader context to the state’s preparations for the 2027 edition.

CM Sugam Parivahan Seva Discussed

Yadav also informed Prime Minister Modi about the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva, a public transport initiative launched in Madhya Pradesh.

The service is aimed at improving public transport connectivity and making travel more accessible for people across the state.

The Chief Minister’s decision to brief the Prime Minister on the initiative reflects the state government’s focus on public transport alongside industrial and investment-related development.

Public transport plays an important role in connecting people with workplaces, educational institutions, markets and other essential services. Improvements in connectivity can therefore also support wider economic activity.

Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Activities Shared

Another issue discussed during the meeting was the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which has been running across Madhya Pradesh since September 17.

Yadav shared details of activities and programmes being organised across the state under the campaign.

The campaign focuses on public participation, service and public welfare, with different activities being organised across the state.

According to the state government, the campaign is being used to encourage people’s participation in programmes connected with service and welfare.

By sharing details of the campaign with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s ongoing public-facing activities alongside its development and investment agenda.

Development and Welfare in Focus

The meeting covered a broad range of subjects rather than focusing only on investment.

Yadav briefed Modi about ongoing development works and welfare initiatives in Madhya Pradesh, along with the state’s achievements and progress.

The discussions brought together several areas of governance, including:

  • Development projects and public welfare initiatives
  • Investment promotion and industrial development
  • Employment generation
  • Public transport through Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva
  • Public participation and welfare activities under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan

These areas represent the state government’s focus on combining economic development with public-facing initiatives.

Building Momentum Ahead of GIS 2027

The invitation to the Prime Minister comes ahead of preparations for the Global Investors Summit 2027.

For Madhya Pradesh, the summit is expected to serve as a platform to showcase investment opportunities, government policies and the state’s industrial potential to investors.

The state has also been undertaking investment outreach beyond India. In September, Yadav participated in investment-related engagements in the UAE, where he invited international stakeholders to participate in the Global Investors Summit 2027 and presented investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.

The upcoming summit will therefore be part of a wider effort to connect Madhya Pradesh with investors and industry stakeholders.

A Wider Development Agenda for Madhya Pradesh

The meeting between Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought investment promotion, industrial development, employment, public transport and welfare activities into focus.

While the Global Investors Summit 2027 will provide a major platform for investment discussions, the state’s development agenda also includes initiatives aimed directly at citizens, such as public transport and service-oriented campaigns.

As Madhya Pradesh prepares for the 2027 summit, the focus will be on converting investment outreach into industrial activity, employment opportunities and broader economic development, while continuing public welfare and service initiatives across the state.
