Gorakhpur: The Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) has initiated the process of selecting a consultant to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 160-acre plug-and-play industrial corridor in Dhuriapar. The project will be fully funded by the Central Government under the Bharat Industrial Development Scheme.
The proposed corridor is expected to accommodate more than 100 industrial units, attract investments from leading companies, and generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. Officials believe the project will significantly strengthen industrial growth across eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Part of National Industrial Development Plan
The project is part of the Bharat Industrial Development Scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet in March 2026. The scheme aims to develop 100 new industrial areas across the country.
Uttar Pradesh has been allocated seven industrial corridors, with Dhuriapar in Gorakhpur selected as one of the strategic locations due to its industrial potential and connectivity.

160 Acres Identified for the Project
GIDA has earmarked nearly 160 acres in Sector-6 of Dhuriapar for the industrial corridor. After the DPR is finalised, the Central Government will fund the development of world-class infrastructure.
The project will include:
- Roads and internal connectivity
- Electricity and water supply
- Sewerage and drainage systems
- Other essential industrial infrastructure
Plug-and-Play Facilities for Faster Investment
The corridor will be developed on the lines of the existing Plastic Park, offering a plug-and-play model. This means industries will receive ready-to-use infrastructure, reducing setup time and lowering project costs.
With infrastructure already in place, investors will be able to start production much faster than in conventional industrial estates.
100+ Industries, Thousands of Jobs
Officials estimate that more than 100 industrial units will be established in the corridor. Since infrastructure costs will be borne by the Central Government, industrial plots are expected to be available at competitive prices.
The project is likely to create thousands of jobs while encouraging ancillary industries, logistics, transport, warehousing, and local businesses to expand alongside manufacturing.
CEO GIDA on the Project
Anuj Malik, CEO of GIDA, said the consultant selection process for preparing the DPR has already begun. He expressed confidence that the project would become a milestone in Dhuriapar’s development, attract reputed companies, and create new employment opportunities for local youth.
A New Growth Engine for Purvanchal
Once completed, the industrial corridor is expected to position Gorakhpur as a key manufacturing destination in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Besides boosting investment, the project will support regional economic growth, improve industrial infrastructure, and provide sustainable employment opportunities for thousands of people.
