Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of Vimukt (Denotified) and Nomadic communities, stating that the newly constituted Nomadic Development Board will serve as a major step towards ensuring justice, dignity and inclusive development for these historically neglected groups.

Addressing a thanksgiving programme organised by representatives of the Vimukt and Nomadic communities in Lucknow following the state cabinet’s decision to establish the Board, the Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

Nomadic Development Board to Ensure Dignified Rehabilitation

CM Yogi Adityanath said members of the nomadic communities will no longer be forced to live a life of uncertainty and neglect.

He said the Nomadic Development Board is not merely an administrative body but a dedicated platform that will:

  • Identify eligible beneficiaries from Vimukt and Nomadic communities.
  • Ensure their rehabilitation with dignity.
  • Connect them to all government welfare schemes.
  • Promote their overall social and economic development.
  • Safeguard their rights and opportunities.

According to the Chief Minister, the Double Engine Government is fully committed to providing these communities with a life of dignity and equal opportunities.

Government Expanding Welfare Coverage for Marginalised Communities

The Chief Minister said the government’s welfare initiatives are reaching every eligible citizen without discrimination based on caste, region or language.

He highlighted that several deprived communities have been brought under government welfare programmes for the first time, including:

  • Vantangiya
  • Musahar
  • Tharu
  • Gond
  • Chero
  • Buksa
  • Kol
  • Sahariya

These communities have benefited from various government schemes such as:

  • Ration cards.
  • Land ownership rights (pattas).
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
  • Chief Minister Housing Scheme.
  • Ayushman Bharat health cards.
  • Free electricity connections.
  • Free LPG connections.
  • Old-age pensions.
  • Widow pensions.
  • Disability pensions.

The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to ensure 100% coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under welfare schemes.

‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ Reaching the Last Person

CM Yogi Adityanath said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, introduced in 2014, has become the foundation of inclusive governance.

He said the Nomadic Development Board represents another step towards ensuring that the benefits of government programmes reach the last person in society without discrimination.

According to the Chief Minister, the government views citizens not as vote banks but as partners in development, and remains committed to inclusive growth.

Focus on Education and Social Empowerment

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives aimed at improving education and living standards among disadvantaged communities.

These include:

  • Ashram schools for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students.
  • Atal Residential Schools for children of labourers.
  • Free education, accommodation and meals for eligible students.
  • Welfare initiatives for workers, street vendors, youth and economically weaker sections.

He said these programmes are bringing positive changes in the lives of marginalised communities across Uttar Pradesh.

Board to Connect Nomadic Communities with Government Schemes

The Chief Minister said the Nomadic Development Board will play a key role in identifying members of Vimukt and Nomadic communities and linking them with every eligible government welfare scheme.

He also stressed that these communities should no longer be referred to by outdated labels such as “criminal tribes,” noting their historical contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

According to him, the Board will help restore their dignity while ensuring greater social inclusion and development.

CM Highlights Contribution of the Sapera Community

During his address, CM Yogi Adityanath made special mention of the Sapera community, describing it as a traditional follower of Guru Gorakhnath.

He said that during periods of foreign invasions, when modern communication systems did not exist, members of the community played an important role in spreading public awareness through devotional songs and traditional musical instruments.

The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to ensuring the community’s dignified rehabilitation and long-term development.

Government Honouring Forgotten Heroes

The Chief Minister also said the government has worked to restore recognition to several neglected historical figures and communities.

He cited initiatives such as:

  • Development of the Maharaja Suheldev Vijay Memorial in Bahraich.
  • Establishment of tribal museums.
  • Efforts to honour freedom fighters and historical personalities from marginalised communities.

He said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to preserving India’s cultural heritage while ensuring inclusive development for every section of society.
