The Ministry is also exploring the use of emerging technologies in collaboration with sovereign AI companies under the IndiaAI Mission, wherever appropriate, to strengthen digital governance.

These technologies may also be used to strengthen digital initiatives related to Haj services, including the Haj Suvidha App, along with other Ministry programmes.

IndiaAI Mission Provides Framework

The Ministry said its AI initiatives are aligned with the IndiaAI Mission, which aims to build a robust, inclusive and responsible AI ecosystem in the country.

The Mission is built around seven pillars:

  • IndiaAI Compute
  • Foundation Models
  • IndiaAI Application Development Initiative
  • IndiaAI Future Skills
  • AIKosh (IndiaAI Datasets Platform)
  • Safe & Trusted AI
  • IndiaAI Startup Financing

Privacy and Data Protection Remain Central

The Ministry said any AI-enabled solution follows government policy and legal provisions relating to privacy, confidentiality, information security and responsible use of AI.

It added that the processing of personal data is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, along with applicable security safeguards and grievance redressal mechanisms.

No Separate Data on AI Vision Centres

The Ministry clarified that its digital initiatives are implemented as part of the overall administration and monitoring of schemes and programmes.

As a result, it does not maintain separate data on AI Vision Centres for Minorities, including applications, approvals, fund allocation, beneficiaries or outcome assessments.
