IAS officer Pamela Satpathy has been appointed as Karimnagar’s next district collector and magistrate. She was promoted from her previous posting as Director of Municipal Administration in Hyderabad. Santhi Kumari, the Telangana Chief Secretary, issued the posting order on Monday.
Similarly, IPS officer Abhishek Mohanty, DCP Traffic Rachakonda, was transferred and sent to Karimnagar as Commissioner of Police. Members of the service are directed to take over the post by 7 p.m. on Monday and report compliance.
Previously, the Election Commission of India (ECI) transferred Karimnagar police commissioner L Subba Rayudu IPS and collector B Gopi ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections.
According to a senior officer who was transferred in the first round, the ECI is acting on complaints lodged by BJP president Kishan Reddy, Raghunandan Rao, MLA, and Bandi Sanjay, MP.
