Chamoli: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday announced a major development package for Chamoli district, unveiling 63 development projects worth a total of ₹155.36 crore during the ‘Seva, Sushasan Evam Samarpan’ Seva Pakhwada programme held at the Police Ground in Gopeshwar.
Under the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ initiative, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for 36 development projects worth ₹113.99 crore and inaugurated 27 completed projects worth ₹41.37 crore.
CM Dhami said that the state government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of development schemes reach every citizen, especially those living in remote areas.
₹113.99 Crore Projects Launched Across Roads, Bridges, Irrigation and Public Facilities
Chief Minister Dhami laid the foundation stone for 36 projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure and public services in Chamoli district.
Major projects include:
- ₹4.34 crore steel truss bridge at Jugju on the Joshimath-Neeti road.
- ₹9.62 crore 78-metre iron bridge on the Langsi-Dweeng-Tapovan-Lanji-Pokhni motor road.
- ₹85.24 lakh reconstruction work of the Mahelchauri-Silangna Ghaniyali motor road.
- ₹2.20 crore extension of Chandnikhal-Radwa-Kandai-Rainsu motor road.
- ₹2.57 crore Vishalkhal-Devikhet-Bameshwar motor road project.
- ₹2.51 crore revival of 13 mountain canals in Nandanagar.
The foundation stone projects also include several flood protection works, educational infrastructure, veterinary facilities, parking areas, and road connectivity projects.
Key Road and Infrastructure Projects Included in Foundation Works
Several important connectivity projects were also included in the foundation ceremony, such as:
- ₹4.05 crore Goganapani-Bhaduda motor road.
- ₹4.71 crore Gopeshwar-Pokhari-Bachher motor road.
- ₹6.99 crore Nauty-Chaunli-Lyutha road.
- ₹7.42 crore Harnichak-Mundoli road.
- ₹9.36 crore Tharali-Ghat (Dungri) road.
- ₹3.50 crore Lauhajung-Walk road.
- Steel girder bridge works on Telan road costing ₹1.95 crore and ₹2 crore.
Other projects include improvements in education, irrigation, animal husbandry, and public infrastructure.
₹41.37 Crore Development Projects Inaugurated in Chamoli
Along with laying foundation stones, CM Dhami inaugurated 27 completed projects worth ₹41.37 crore.
Major inaugurated projects include:
- ₹1.42 crore interlocking tiles work on Gairsain main road.
- ₹2.71 crore Sem-Maso motor road.
- ₹2.34 crore Hapla-Gudam-Nail-Nauli motor road.
- ₹1.15 crore road strengthening and blacktopping work on Nandasin-Malai motor road.
- ₹50 lakh each BPHU Pokhari and DIPHL building at District Hospital Chamoli.
- Library, art and craft rooms, and science laboratories in various schools.
- ₹3.50 crore Bairagana trout indoor hatchery.
- ₹2.45 crore two-court badminton hall at Sports Stadium Gopeshwar.
- ₹40.50 lakh Kalpeshwar pathway and arch bridge.
- ₹30 lakh Pandukeshwar Multipurpose Cooperative Society building.
- ₹5.63 crore Tefna-Kandara motor road upgrade.
- ₹9.32 crore Kulsari-Gairwaram motor road upgrade.
- ₹7.75 crore Lolti-Malbazwad-Pastoli motor road upgrade.
These projects are expected to strengthen road connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism, sports, fisheries, and other basic facilities in the district.
CM Dhami Highlights Focus on Remote Area Development
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Chamoli holds significant importance from religious, cultural, and strategic perspectives.
He highlighted that the government is continuously working to improve:
- Road and bridge connectivity.
- Healthcare facilities.
- Education infrastructure.
- Irrigation systems.
- Flood protection measures.
- Tourism development.
- Animal husbandry and livelihood opportunities.
The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to ensuring balanced development across Uttarakhand and delivering public services to people at the grassroots level.

With the launch and completion of these 63 projects, Chamoli district is set to receive significant improvements in infrastructure and public facilities. The initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, strengthen essential services, and support tourism and economic development in the Himalayan region.
