Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the rapid development of Uttarakhand across key sectors such as tourism, energy, and connectivity, stating that these advancements have significantly boosted local employment opportunities.
Speaking at a corporate event in Gurugram, the Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to inclusive growth and called on citizens to actively contribute toward building a “Developed Uttarakhand” and a self-reliant India.
Focus on Self-Reliance and Job Creation
During his address, Dhami praised the Direct Selling model as a powerful tool for promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance. He aligned this vision with the national mission led by Narendra Modi, which encourages youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
He noted that such initiatives are helping transform India’s workforce mindset while opening new economic avenues for individuals, especially in emerging sectors.
Women Empowerment Driving Economic Growth
The Chief Minister placed special emphasis on the role of women, stating that increased participation of “Matri Shakti” (women power) is strengthening both families and the broader economy. He pointed out that women are becoming financially independent through modern business models and are establishing a stronger identity in society.
Major Investments and Industrial Expansion
Highlighting the state’s economic progress, Dhami shared impressive figures from recent years. Under the Global Investors Summit, Uttarakhand has signed investment agreements worth ₹3.56 lakh crore, with over ₹1 lakh crore already grounded into active projects.
He also revealed that:
- The state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has grown by 7.23%.
- Per capita income has increased by approximately 41%.
- More than 20,000 new industries have been established.
- The number of startups has crossed 1,750.
Uttarakhand Emerging as a Growth Hub
According to Dhami, these achievements position Uttarakhand as one of the fastest-growing states in India. Improved infrastructure, better connectivity, and investor-friendly policies are making the state an attractive destination for businesses and entrepreneurs alike.
Call for Collective Participation
Concluding his speech, the Chief Minister urged citizens, entrepreneurs, and organizations to actively participate in the journey toward a stronger and self-reliant India. He reiterated that sustainable development and inclusive growth can only be achieved through collective effort.
