GRID-INDIA Signs MoU with ALIMCO to Provide Assistive Devices to Persons with Disabilities

The CSR partnership aims to promote accessibility, independence and social inclusion by providing assistive aids and appliances to eligible beneficiaries.

New Delhi: Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to provide assistive aids and appliances to persons with disabilities.

The initiative aims to promote accessibility, independence, empowerment and social inclusion by helping eligible beneficiaries access suitable assistive devices. The programme is expected to support persons with disabilities in participating more actively in education, employment and everyday activities.

The MoU was signed at ALIMCO’s Regional Marketing Centre in New Delhi in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

GRID-INDIA and ALIMCO Join Hands for Inclusive Development

The agreement was signed by Subhash Chaudhary, General Manager (Administration), GRID-INDIA, and Ajay Chaudhary, General Manager (Corporate Marketing), ALIMCO.

The signing ceremony was attended by Praveen Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, ALIMCO, along with senior officials from ALIMCO and GRID-INDIA.Through the partnership, both organisations will work together to provide assistive aids and appliances to eligible persons with disabilities.

Assistive Devices to Promote Independence and Social Inclusion

The CSR initiative focuses on improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities by providing access to assistive devices.

The programme aims to:

  • Improve accessibility for persons with disabilities
  • Support greater independence in daily life
  • Promote social inclusion and empowerment
  • Improve participation in education and employment
  • Support mobility and communication needs
  • Contribute to more inclusive and sustainable development

Access to appropriate assistive devices can help individuals manage everyday activities more independently and participate more actively in society.

Initiative Aligned with DPE’s CSR Theme

The collaboration is aligned with the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) CSR theme of Innovative Livelihood Enhancement.The initiative reflects the role of public sector enterprises in supporting inclusive development and creating meaningful social impact through responsible corporate citizenship.

By combining GRID-INDIA’s CSR efforts with ALIMCO’s expertise in assistive aids and appliances, the partnership aims to contribute towards improving accessibility and expanding opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Partnership to Strengthen Accessibility and Empowerment

The collaboration between GRID-INDIA and ALIMCO is expected to support the broader objective of building a more accessible and inclusive society.

Quality assistive devices can play an important role in improving mobility, communication and everyday independence for persons with disabilities. Through this initiative, the two organisations aim to strengthen social inclusion and support the government’s broader vision of accessible and inclusive growth.
