In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government has announced a series of high-profile transfers of IAS officers, with changes in key positions across various departments and boards.

Tushar Mohanlal Dholakia, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar, effective immediately. Dholakia, who has served as the Director of Civil Supplies and Ex-officio Additional Secretary in the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs Department since September 2019, brings a wealth of experience from his diverse roles in water resources, tribal development, civil supplies, and social defense.

In another major development, D P Desai, an IAS officer of the 2008 batch, has been transferred from his position as Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). Additionally, Desai will oversee the operations of the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA) until further notice, taking over from Bhavya Verma, IAS, who has been relieved of the additional charge.

Further changes include the transfer of Tushar Sumera, IAS (2012 batch), from his role as the Collector of Bharuch to the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, where he will assume the role of Municipal Commissioner, succeeding D P Desai.

Meanwhile, Gaurang Makwana, IAS (2012 batch), currently serving as the Managing Director of Industrial Extension Bureau (INDEXT-B), has been appointed the new Collector of Bharuch, replacing Tushar Sumera.

These administrative changes reflect the state government’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and ensure efficient governance across various key sectors in Gujarat.
