Gujarat Transfers 72 IAS Officers in Massive Reshuffle; Bhavya Verma Appointed Ahmedabad Collector, Tejas Parmar Gets Surat

Gandhinagar: In one of the biggest administrative reshuffles in recent years, the Gujarat government on Tuesday transferred and reassigned 72 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across the state, bringing sweeping changes to district administrations, municipal corporations, urban development bodies, and major state departments.

The extensive transfer order, issued late on May 13 by the General Administration Department, includes the appointment of new collectors in several strategically important districts such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Morbi, Dahod, Junagadh, and Kutch. The reshuffle also affects senior positions in education, energy, tourism, industries, tribal development, and urban governance.

The large-scale administrative overhaul is being viewed as a significant move aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating implementation of development initiatives across Gujarat.

Major Appointments in Gandhinagar and State Departments

Among the most significant changes, senior IAS officer D.N. Modi has been appointed as Development Commissioner, Gandhinagar, one of the most influential administrative positions in the state.

Anand Babulal Patel has been posted as Commissioner of Schools, with additional charges as Commissioner of PM-POSHAN Yojana and Director of GCERT.

Sujeet Kumar, formerly Collector of Ahmedabad, has been appointed Special Commissioner of State Tax, Ahmedabad.

Ajay Prakash will serve as Managing Director of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. (GETCO).

Dr. Sourabh Zamsingh Pardhi, previously Surat Collector, has been appointed Director of Civil Supplies and Ex-officio Additional Secretary.

Kshipra Suryakantarao Agre has been named Commissioner of MSME, Gandhinagar, with additional charge as Commissioner of Services.

  • Anilkumar Ramjibhai Ranavasiya – Collector, Kutch-Bhuj
  • Ganga Singh – Collector, Narmada-Rajpipla
  • Dr. Prashant Jilova – Collector, Patan
  • Milind Bapna – Collector, Arvalli-Modasa
  • H.M. Vora – Collector, Botad
  • N.D. Parmar – Collector, Dangs-Ahwa
  • Mayur K. Mehta – Collector, Vav-Tharad
  • N.V. Upadhyay – Collector, Kheda-Nadiad

Several officers have been assigned important municipal and urban governance responsibilities:

  • Shalini Duhan – Municipal Commissioner, Mehsana Municipal Corporation
  • Deepesh Kedia – Municipal Commissioner, Jamnagar Municipal Corporation
  • Sangeeta Raiyani – Municipal Commissioner, Morbi Municipal Corporation
  • R.N. Dodiya – Municipal Commissioner, Anand Municipal Corporation
  • J.S. Prajapati – Municipal Commissioner, Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation
  • N.F. Chaudhari – Municipal Commissioner, Vapi Municipal Corporation
  • J.K. Jadav – Municipal Commissioner, Surendranagar Municipal Corporation
  • B.D. Davera – Municipal Commissioner, Gandhidham Municipal Corporation

  • Gaurangbhai H. Makwana – Director, Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA)
  • Vipin Garg – Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.
  • Jincy Roy – Managing Director, Gujarat Informatics Ltd.
  • Shivani Goyal – Managing Director, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (MGVCL)

Several 2021 and 2022 batch IAS officers have been entrusted with significant district and tribal development responsibilities.
