Bengaluru: In a major push to strengthen Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and manufacturing in Karnataka, the National Small Industries Corporation on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Technology cum Common Facility Centre (TCFC) at Peenya Industrial Area.

The facility, being developed with support from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, is estimated to cost around ₹46 crore and is expected to become a major hub for technology adoption, innovation, skill development and enterprise support for MSMEs in Karnataka and neighbouring regions.

The foundation stone was laid by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in the presence of Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje, MSME Secretary Bharat Khera, senior officials from the central and state governments, industry associations, bankers and MSME entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, Manjhi said the government is continuously establishing modern technology centres and common facility centres across the country to create globally competitive MSMEs and strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

He noted that such centres will help small businesses adopt advanced technologies, improve product quality, enhance productivity and create employment opportunities for youth.

Shobha Karandlaje: Centre Will Catalyse Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The centre is expected to significantly improve the competitiveness of MSMEs by providing affordable access to cutting-edge tools and technical expertise.

Industry Welcomes the Initiative

Representatives from leading industry associations welcomed the project and said it would address the long-standing need for high-quality technology support infrastructure in the Peenya Industrial Area and surrounding manufacturing clusters.

The event was attended by senior officials from NSIC, Karnataka industrial development agencies, bankers, industry bodies, and entrepreneurs.
