Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed officials to accelerate the development of key industrial projects, including the World Trade Centre and Logistics Park in Ranchi, during a high-level review of the state’s Industry Department at the Jharkhand Secretariat.
The Chief Minister emphasized that faster execution of industrial projects is essential to generate employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Focus on Industrial Growth, Investment, and Employment
During the meeting, CM Hemant Soren reviewed the progress of ongoing industrial development initiatives, investment promotion strategies, and employment generation schemes.
He stressed the need to remove bottlenecks in project implementation and ensure timely completion of industrial infrastructure to boost economic activity across Jharkhand.
According to the Chief Minister, strengthening the industrial ecosystem will directly contribute to job creation and expand self-employment opportunities for young people in the state.
Push for World Trade Centre and Logistics Park Projects
A key highlight of the review meeting was the direction to expedite work on the proposed World Trade Centre and Logistics Park in Ranchi.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure faster execution of these projects, stating that they are crucial for positioning Jharkhand as an emerging industrial and trade hub.
He also emphasized presenting the state’s industrial potential effectively at the national level to attract more investors.
Strengthening Jharkraft and Market-Based Product Innovation
While reviewing the activities of Jharkraft, the Chief Minister called for greater focus on innovation and market-driven product development.
He directed that:
- Products should be designed based on market demand
- Youth should be actively engaged in production and innovation
- Sales and product display should be linked with tourism destinations
- Traditional arts and cultural products should be modernized for wider appeal
The Chief Minister stressed that Jharkhand’s cultural and artisanal heritage must be developed into strong marketable products through structured planning.
Empowerment of Traditional Artisans through Maatikala Board
CM Soren also reviewed the functioning of the Maatikala Board and emphasized strengthening traditional artisans engaged in:
- Pottery (Kumbhkar)
- Woodcraft
- Ironwork and metal crafts
He noted that increasing industrialization has impacted the livelihoods of traditional craftsmen, making it necessary to integrate them into modern markets.
The Chief Minister directed authorities to focus on:
- Skill training programs for artisans
- Improved product design and innovation
- Branding and marketing support
- Linking artisans with Jharkraft for better market access
He also emphasized developing wood and clay-based products with modern design techniques.
