The Himachal Pradesh government has now issued orders to release 14 per cent DA for IAS, IPS and IFS officers who have retired from the Indian Administrative Service. In this regard, office orders have been issued on Thursday. Notification for serving officers has already been released. This benefit of dearness allowance is being given to retired officers of the Indian Administrative Service from July 1.

This dearness allowance from July 1 to December 31 is being added to the pension being given in their bank accounts in the month of December in January. According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the DA has been increased from the existing 17 percent to 31 percent. That is, it has been increased by 14 percent. The additional DA will be given along with the December pension to be paid in January. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena has issued office orders in this regard.

Employees have protested once in the past also to give 11 per cent DA to IAS officers. The government had to withdraw this notification once under pressure from the employees. Now instead of 11, the notification of 14 per cent DA has been issued. The employees said that they were given 6% dearness allowance.

According to sources, this time the order of the government has been explained to the employees’ unions. They have been told that the Central Government has given this benefit to the Indian Administrative Service officers on the recommendations of its Seventh Pay Commission. The recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission of Punjab are being implemented on the employees of the state.
