New Delhi: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has announced the appointment of retired Indian Navy Commodore Jasvinder Singh as Director (Strategic Project), effective May 1.
Singh steps into this key leadership role after an extensive and distinguished career with the Indian Navy, bringing over three decades of expertise in defence operations and marine engineering.
Extensive Experience in Defence and Marine Engineering
A retired Commodore, Jasvinder Singh has held several critical operational and technical roles throughout his naval career. His experience spans across ships, submarines, naval establishments, and tri-service installations, including assignments with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
He has made significant contributions in areas such as fleet maintenance, marine engineering, and the construction of strategic naval vessels—skills that are expected to play a crucial role in his new position.
Strong Academic Background
Singh’s academic credentials further strengthen his profile. He holds:
- A B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University
- An M.E. in Marine Engineering from University of Pune
- An M.Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies from University of Mumbai
Additionally, he has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
Focus on Strategic Submarine Projects
In his new role at HSL, Singh will be responsible for overseeing major strategic initiatives, particularly critical submarine projects. His leadership is expected to strengthen the company’s role in India’s defence manufacturing and shipbuilding ecosystem.
