Kolkata: Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (Hooghly-CSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), has secured a repeat order from Heritage River Journeys Private Limited for the construction of two luxury river cruise vessels. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in June 2029 and June 2030, respectively.
The order is valued in the range of ₹100 crore to ₹250 crore and falls under the “Notable” category. The contract further strengthens Hooghly-CSL’s position in the specialised inland and river cruise vessel construction segment.
Hooghly-CSL Receives Repeat Order From Heritage River Journeys
The latest contract follows an earlier order placed by Heritage River Journeys in June 2025. The repeat order reflects continued business engagement between the two companies in the luxury river cruise vessel segment.
Under the contract, Hooghly-CSL will construct two luxury river cruise vessels, with deliveries planned over the next few years. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in June 2029, followed by the second in June 2030.
The project adds to Hooghly-CSL’s portfolio of specialised vessels and supports its role in the development of India’s inland and river cruise infrastructure.

Order Valued Between ₹100 Crore and ₹250 Crore
According to the company’s disclosure, the contract has been classified as a “Notable” order, with an estimated value ranging from ₹100 crore to ₹250 crore.
Cochin Shipyard Limited informed the stock exchanges about the order. The company also clarified that neither its promoters, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the entity that awarded the contract.
The transaction does not fall under the purview of related-party transactions.
Cochin Shipyard Reports Q1 FY27 Revenue and Profit
Cochin Shipyard Limited reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹1,094.21 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2026–27 (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹1,068.59 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The company’s consolidated net profit, however, declined to ₹151.45 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹187.83 crore in Q1 FY26.
The financial performance provides additional context to the latest order announcement as CSL and its subsidiaries continue to pursue shipbuilding opportunities across specialised vessel segments.
Hooghly-CSL Strengthens Its Position in River Cruise Shipbuilding
The repeat order from Heritage River Journeys expands Hooghly-CSL’s work in the luxury river cruise segment. With deliveries scheduled for 2029 and 2030, the contract represents a multi-year project for the shipyard.
The order also highlights the role of specialised shipyards in supporting the growing range of vessel requirements for inland waterways and river-based tourism.
